Blue Party Suit

Description

Party suits were unofficial uniforms worn by flying and flight support personnel for social occasions throughout Thailand and South Vietnam. Based on the design of lightweight flying coveralls, they were typically created by local tailors in colorful fabric with patches and other embellishments.

This party suit was worn by Lieutenant Colonel George Chabbott, a pilot stationed at Nakhon Phanom Royal Thai AFB (NKP) from 1970 to 1971. NKP is located on the Mekong River which formed the border between Thailand and Laos.
