C-5A Ashtray

Description

Metal ashtray with flip-up top and magnetic catch was installed in an armrest on a C-5A Galaxy aircraft. On the side is an inspection sticker from Sacramento ALC (Air Logistics Center) at McClellan AFB, California. McClellan AFB closed in 1995. The sticker is dated 1 September 1979.

Ashtrays are no longer used on today’s modern aircraft.
