Dover AFB Restricted Area Badge

Description

Restricted area badges or line badges, are worn by aircraft maintenance personnel on aircraft flightlines. The front of the badge shows a photo of the wearer and which restricted areas he’s allowed to access. The back contains identifying information like height, weight, and hair and eye color.

Donor, J. Pat McCann was assigned to the 1617th Organizational Maintenance Squadron at Dover AFB, Delaware, in the early 1960s. The 1617th was assigned to the 1607th Air Transport Wing and flew C-133 aircraft.
