Dufresne Leather Nametag

Description

This leather nametag is stamped in gold. In WWII armorers maintained and serviced small arms. As an aerial gunner, Gerard Dufresne operated a hand-held or turret-mounted aircraft machine gun.

Gerard R. Dufresne entered the U.S. Army Air Force at Ft. Devens, Massachusetts, in 1944. He attended armorer school at Lowry Field, Colorado, and  flexible gunnery school at Tyndall Field, Florida. He was assigned to the 320th and 822nd Bombardment Squadrons.
