1st Military Airlift Squadron Mug

Description

Specially designed squadron mugs have always been a feature of U.S. Air Force squadrons. This ceramic mug features a cartoon C-133 aircraft holding cargo with its wings. It was owned by Lt. Col. Larry Doyle, the last squadron commander of the 1st MAS before it was deactivated in 1971 at Dover AFB.

I was a member of the 1st Military Airlift Squadron, sister squadron to the 37th from Dec 1969 to July 1979 before my assignment to 7th AF, Vietnam. Col Doyle was the commander of the 37th at that time.
