2015 Hangar Flying - Air Force Special Operations History

Hangar Flying: The Air Force and Airplane Fundamentals

Event Date: Sunday, 19 July 2015 at 2:00 p.m.
This event has since ended. We hope you were able to join us.

Join us at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 19th, when Captain J. Travis Doyle will present the latest in the AMC Museum’s continuing series of “Hangar Flying” events with a very special presentation titled, “The Air Force and Airplane Fundamentals.”

Captain J. Travis Doyle is a C-5M Super Galaxy pilot at the 9th Airlift Squadron, Dover AFB. He is an aircraft commander that flies Air Mobility Command’s largest mobility cargo plane, capable of carrying 285,000 pounds of cargo.

This is a very special opportunity to hear the same briefing Captain Doyle presents to Air Force Personnel as part of their continuing education. It will cover the mythology of flight, early attempts, and the myriad dangers faced by the Wright Brothers and other early aviators. From WWI to the future many aspects of aviation will be discussed.

Captain Doyle is a very experienced military pilot and he will be happy to field questions from the audience about any area of aviation, and just like his official training sessions there will be cookies served at the conclusion.

This is a free presentation as part of the AMC Museum’s educational outreach program. Donations are appreciated. Reservations are not required.
